Lamy 2000 (Makrolon)

The German Lamy 2000 has become a legendary pen amongst collectors. Its main claim to fame is that it has been in continuous production since 1966. The design features a shielded nib which was popular at that time. It was never designed as a luxury pen, being made of Makrolon, which is actually polycarbonate with glass fibre. The rest of the body is stainless steel. The nib is platinum plated 14K gold. It has proved itself as a reliable pen, otherwise it would not have lasted so long. It is a piston filler; the end screws out to push the piston down and it pulls the ink in as it screwed back.
