Conway Stewart No. 84 (Marbled Blue/Gold veins)
This vintage pen dates from the 1950s/early 1960s, around the time I would have been given my first Conway Stewart fountain pen. The general design, with the lever fill, would have been much the same, but perhaps it did not feature this kind of marbled blue finish. The No 84 is described as a ‘mid-sized’ pen, larger than the ‘Dinkie’ , but quite a compact pen by today’s standards, just 12cm long. Considered the sort of pen which might have been used for shorthand. This example has managed to retain most of its gold plating.
