Narwhal Schuylkill (Marlin Blue)

Narwhal Pens is a fairly recent addition to the US pen making community. Using their own custom resins and, unusually, in-house nibs, these are beautiful handcrafted pens.

If the brand ‘Narwhal’ is unusual, the pen name ‘Schuylkill’ is even odder to those who are not aware that it is the name of a river in Pennsylvania, draining into the Delaware River at Philadelphia. The name is apparently of Dutch origin, meaning ‘hidden river’ and is pronounced SKOO-kill.

But back to the pen! The model is a piston filler, with ink window and has a fine/medium nib which writes smoothly. The resin has depth and ‘chatoyance’. Overall, a beautiful pen.
