Platinum Plaisir (Nova Orange)
Some prestige fountain pen makers would never dilute their brand by offering anything other than expensive up-market pens. But others are happy to provide pens at a range of price points, including entry level pens. Hence one can buy the Parker Vector, Lamy Safari, Sheaffer VFM, Pilot MR/Metropolitan etc. Platinum have three pens in their entry level range: the very basic Preppy, the slightly smarter Prefounte and this, the Plaisir. All share the same nib and feed unit, but the Plaisir has a very silky metal body. Despite being inexpensive, it still features Platinum’s ‘Slip and Seal’ mechanism to stop the pen from drying out.
